Pipers Young enterprise team wins area finals at Buckinghamshire New University

Congratulations to Seedlings - one of Pipers Young Enterprise teams - who won the area finals on Friday 5 May 2023 at Buckinghamshire New University.

Competing against nine other teams from different schools in the local area, the team began by providing a company report ahead of time, which is worth 40% of their overall mark. On the day, each team was tasked with setting up a trade stall and have a team interview, worth another 30% towards their final mark. A four-minute presentation, delivered by team members Emma H, Maddie R and Evie M, was worth the remaining 30% towards the final mark.

During the set-up of these trade stalls, the students were thrilled to be visited by Councillor Arif Hussian, Mayor of High Wycombe and Steve Baker MP.

The Seedlings team were successful in not only winning awards for best trade stand, best interview and best presentation, they were also crowned Area Winners and will be moving on to the regional finals on Thursday 25 May.

This haul of awards now adds to the collection of achievements the Seedlings team have procured, including the corporate image award for excellence, the Marketing award for excellence, the overall winner of 'Company of the Year' awards and the regional award for Unique Typography. 

The Seedlings company sells sustainable herb kits 'which nurtures little growers into little cooks'. From planting to germination, to harvesting to the plate, the team work hard to create a customer experience for both the children and the parent or guardian. With recipes available on their website, they focus on sustainability, including ethically sourced soil to packaging.
