At Pipers Corner School, we are committed to providing our students with exceptional enrichment opportunities that enhance their learning experience and artistic development. As part of the AS and A Level Art & Textiles course, students recently took part in an inspiring life-drawing workshop led by the renowned artist and Royal Academy of Arts teacher, Paul Brandford.

This hands-on session was designed to build upon the drawing techniques students have developed so far, while also encouraging them to explore new and exciting methods. Through expert guidance, they experimented with expressive mark-making, dynamic composition, and observational drawing techniques, pushing the boundaries of their creativity.

Life drawing is a fundamental skill for any aspiring artist, fostering a deeper understanding of form, proportion, and movement. The experience not only contributed to their coursework but also provided valuable pieces for their university and college portfolios. Engaging with a professional artist offered students a unique insight into the world of contemporary art and the expectations of higher education in creative fields.

Workshops such as these form a crucial part of our enrichment programme, helping students to develop confidence, refine their artistic skills, and gain inspiration for their future work. It was a fantastic opportunity for our young artists to challenge themselves and broaden their artistic horizons.

We look forward to more exciting workshops and creative experiences that continue to ignite our students’ passion for the arts!
