To coincide with World Mental Health Day on 10 October, our Sixth Form students have been showing wonderful acts of kindness by crocheting 100 little starfish to give as gifts to Year 7.

The project was inspired by 'The Tale of the Starfish', about a young girl who would return starfish to the sea after a terrible storm. After being approached by an older man to ask what she's doing, she responds "I made a difference for that one". What followed was a chain of events of kindness delivered by the older man as well as countless others who joined them.

This project has served as a wonderful way to heighten the culture of kindness we have here at Pipers. The Sixth Form students worked on the starfish during their lunchtime breaks throughout the week, which acted also as a well-deserved mindful break from their UCAS applications and busy extra-curricular acitivities.
