Last week saw girls from all year groups take part in the annual Hampden Talent Show.  The Landau Hall was full with an enthusiastic audience eagerly waiting to see what talent this year’s show would reveal.

This year there were eight acts who took to the stage after auditioning earlier in the term. Each act was unique and performances included dancing, singing and a rap from girls in Year 4.

At the end of the show the judging panel faced the tough choice of selecting the best performers. The prizes were as follows:

·         First prize: Upper Sixth with a Miley Cyrus medley of dancing and singing.

·         Second prize: Ruby B (Year 9) for her production of a film about sisterly friendship.

·         Third prize: Jaiya J (Year 7) and Morgan W (Year 7) for their piano and vocal rendition of “Counting Stars”.

The girls managed to raise £302 for St Marks School in Uganda.

Miss Heather Andrew, Head of Performing Arts and member of the judging panel, said “This year we saw yet more amazing talent on show from all girls from the Prep Department to Upper Sixth.  Girls who took to the stage were excellent and it was a very hard decision choosing a winner.  It was a thoroughly enjoyable way to end the week.”
