There was great excitement last Friday afternoon when Pipers Corner held their annual Sports Day.  The rain stayed away and the sun came out for what was a fantastic day of sporting achievement with plenty of House Spirit shown by girls, staff and parents alike.

The Junior Sports Day (Reception – Year 4) took place in the morning and the Senior Sports Day (Year 5 – Lower Sixth) was held in the afternoon.

All the girls had an opportunity to take part in the day, competing in a variety of track and field events including 50m skipping, 100m sprint, relays, high jump and long jump.  The girls made a huge amount of noise cheering each other on and there were lots of banners and mascots on show which added to the excitement of the occasion.

The final result saw Milton House take home the Senior Sports Day trophy for a second year in a row, Penn came second, with Hampden in third and Mandeville in fourth.  Mandeville took home the Junior Sports Day trophy with Milton in second, Hampden placing third and Penn in fourth.  The “Victrix Lodurum Cup” was awarded to Evangeline C (Year 5).  Evangeline not only gained the most points in individual events, but also won all her events and broke a number of school records.

Head of PE, Miss Poore said “Well done goes to all girls who took part in the events on Friday, it was a fantastic day. All girls showed great enthusiasm and House Spirit throughout the day”. What a great way to end the Pipers sporting year.
