Fire Safety Education

Year 5 had an interesting time learning about fire safety with the local Fire Brigade on Monday morning, including the opportunity to look round a Fire Engine. The Firefighters explained about the equipment and tools on board the engine and how things are used in different emergencies.

They also spoke to the students about the "Stop, Drop and Roll" technique to use when clothing catches fire, as well as the best procedures to follow in case of a fire.

The girls got to sit in the back of the truck with the blue flashing lights on and really enjoyed finding out more about the work of this hugely important emergency service.
