Whole School Pre-Prep and Prep

Year 9 Historians were transported back to Victorian times today for a tea party, during which they spent time discussing and learning about key figures from the period.

Each of the students was tasked with portraying a different historical figure and used accessories to subtly allude to who they were supposed to be. The girls mingled over cakes and chocolate related to the era, asking a variety of questions to try and identity each other. Through this process they found out a lot of information about the influential characters from the past and what they did that made them so important to today's society!

Figures included:

  • Scientist, Engineer and Inventor of the telephone - Alexander Graham Bell.
  • George Cadbury - part of the famous family who founded the Cadbury's cocoa and chocolate company.
  • British Headmistress and a pioneer of women's education - Frances Buss.
  • Manufacturer, Politician, and Philanthropist- Titus Salt.
  • Elizabeth Fry -  English Prison Reformer, Social Reformer and Christian philanthropist.
  • English Naturalist, Geologist and Biologist - Charles Darwin.
  • Sir Joseph Lister - British Surgeon and a Pioneer of antiseptic surgery.
