Year 9 students demonstrated a huge amount of talent on Friday as they staged a lunchtime show in aid of Wycombe Women’s Aid.

In front of a panel of five judges, including a representative from Wycombe Women’s Aid, six brave acts put themselves in the spotlight as they enthusiastically performed to an audience of watching girls and staff.

The performances included a dancing trio of cats and mice with tennis rackets, a solo vocalist, a singing duet, a comedy poetry reading, a dancing duo and an anonymous magic magician. All in all it was a superb lunchtime of entertainment for all involved.

The aim of the student-led show was to raise funds for local charity Wycombe Women's Aid. The organisation, which operates in the Wycombe, South Bucks and Chiltern Districts of Buckinghamshire, provides support to women and children experiencing the effects of domestic violence by offering safe, temporary and emergency accommodation as well as practical and emotional support within the refuge and through outreach in the local community.

We are delighted to report that the total raised by the show was a fantastic £216.23 - an amount we are sure the charity will put to very good use.
