The Return of Pipers Radio for a very special broadcast

The start of the new academic year sees lots of firsts, but none greater than the event that took place this lunchtime. Led by an incredibly talented group of Year 12 and 13 students, our Radio Team took to the air for a tribute broadcast to mark the life and reign of her Late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

With meticulous planning, our Sixth Form students oversaw a poignant show that further reminded us, following the State Funeral on Monday 19 September, how fortunate we have been to have been presided over by such a special monarch.

With observations from the funeral 24-hours earlier, broadcasting audio tributes from a large number of world leaders, celebrities as well as considering the impact of the Royal Family on the economy, this show was a celebration of service and commitment to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
