Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

The staff and students at Pipers Corner School have been deeply saddened by the news of Her Majesty the Queen’s passing yesterday evening. The school will be marking this period of mourning and have used today as a time for reflection as we acknowledge the contribution Queen Elizabeth II made to the UK, Commonwealth and all of its subjects and celebrate Her Majesty’s life and reign.

Our Chapel has now become a dedicated space for reflection throughout the period of mourning, open to students and staff throughout the day, and for parents from 1500 hours today, with a book of condolence for those wishing to share their thoughts and gratitude. We welcome all members of the Pipers community to come and visit the tribute.

All students were showed the short BBC tribute to the Queen during form time this afternoon, before the whole School gathered for an Act of Remembrance in the Quad at 1430 hours. We marked the occasion with a two-minute silence, followed by an Orchestral version of the National Anthem, the school did not sing as a sign of respect.

Pipers Corner School will continue celebrate the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II throughout this period of mourning and we look forward to advising you the other ways that the School will be paying tribute to Her Majesty.
