The students and staff of Pipers came together today for a special presentation and assembly to remember and honour those in the Armed Forces whose bravery will never be forgotten for Remembrance Day.

The period of reflection started with a heartfelt speech delivered by our Head of Security and former Military Veteran Mr Johnston. A student recited  ‘Perhaps’ by Vera Brittain shortly afterwards. At the end of the two-minute silence, the Head Girl Team placed the poppy wreath down as the school choir performed a beautiful piece by Mozart.

In the afternoon, the students had an informed assembly about the young poet and soldier Roland Leighton and his fiancée Vera Brittain. Upper Sixth students Mia and Liv performed a ballad written in honour of the late soldier.

A day of reflection for the full Pipers community. Lest we forget. #RemembranceDay
