Senior School Trips to End the Summer Term

As the Summer Term comes to a close, Senior students have embarked on a series of captivating trips  to deepen their understanding of the world through subjects including Geography, Religious Studies, Food Technology, History and Science. These excursions provided them with unique opportunities to explore historical sites, engage with nature, indulge in culinary delights and immerse themselves in different cultures.

Year 7 students visited St Albans Cathedral with its grandeur and intricate architecture making quite an impression as they explored the hallowed halls. The trip provided them with an opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for the rich religious and architectural heritage of our neighbouring county, while also allowing them to understand the significance of this iconic place of worship.

Meanwhile, Year 9 students travelled to the historically significant Normandy Battlefields, located in Northern France. This sombre and thought-provoking trip allowed them to witness first-hand the sites where crucial World War II battles took place. On quite a contrary, Year 9 were also treated to an extraordinary culinary adventure at the renowned Good Food Show. This mouth-watering excursion took them into the vibrant world of gastronomy, from celebrity chef demonstrations to interactive cooking workshops and an array of food tastings.

Further up the School, Year 10 students embarked on an awe-inspiring adventure to the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Nestled in the heart of Wales, this stunning natural landscape provided the perfect backdrop for an exploration of nature and outdoor activities. The students had the opportunity to hike through picturesque trails, soak in breathtaking panoramic views, and engage in team-building exercises.

These Senior trips offer significant educational benefits. By stepping outside the classroom, students are able to deepen their understanding of various subjects whilst fostering personal growth and development.
