What Can You Hear?

Year 1 spent the afternoon using their listening skills as they continue to learn more about the senses. They started with listening to sounds in the Pre-Prep department where they could hear sounds such as the boiler, water running from the taps, the telephone ringing and footsteps from the other classrooms. 

The girls then went on a walk in the beautiful grounds as they listened out for the sounds of nature. The girls could hear birds singing, the older girls hitting hockey balls, traffic from surrounding roads, their own footprints as well as the wind and leaves rustling. 

iPads were then used back in the classroom to record their own voices where the girls then identified which of their peers were speaking.  

It’s great to see Year 1 enjoying the autumn weather and using their senses to explore the beautiful school grounds.
